The DOstamper STARS Thursday Challenge is a Home Sweet Home design:
My first urge was to make a three-dimensional project to decorate my home. Maybe some fluffy paper roses to stand in a vase. Not sure if that falls under the "challenge parameters"?!?, so I decided that a card would be in order. But which stamp set to choose? It just has to be roses! There are two that came to mind;: First, the Sale-a-bration "What I Love" set, (#141276) but is that really a rose??? ... and I already had played with that set to make a card for an upcoming club. Secondly, the Rose Wonder Bundle with the delicate Rose Garden thinlits (#140804) from the Occasions catalog came to mind. The smaller rose thinlit seemed to fit the picture, compact and delicate. The style had to be a gate fold card to view the "bouquet". From there, my imagination took off:
My mind's eye remembered the red background and the scalloped heart.
And the inside of the card continues the 'essence' of the photo:
The particulars are these =
Card stock = Very Vanilla base cut at 4 1/4" by 5 1/2" scored on each side at 2 1/8". Front panels trimmed (in directions).Real Red cut at 1" by 4 1/4", also needed is a half sheet of 8 1/2" x 11" for dies. Blushing Bride cut at 1/2 sheet of 8 1/2 by 11".
Ink = Real Red
Extras = Rose Garden thinlits dies, Wonderful Wreath framlits (Noel), & Hello You thinlits. Sponge dauber. Fine tip glue pen. Big Shot.Scallop oval punch, and Sweetheart punch. Stampin' Dimensionals.
Directions. When the card base is folded to the center, place a ruler on the diagonal from upper left to lower right. Pencil in a line to the center. Do the same on the right side. Cut off the two triangles. Die cut 3 small roses and sponge real red in the center of each. Punch 1 pink heart and 2 real red scallop ovals. Arrange ovals in a "v" shape under heart. Dimensional the heart. Die cut the words "you" and "noel". Cut the "L" off of the word, and trim to mimic a cursive "I".
