Another Dostamper stars challenge:
Lots of layers today. Please, someone stop me from making more layers! Have you ever created a card, (or cake, or a painting) and you tell yourself, "this is good ... but a little more _____ would make it great"? Whew! That is why design "rules" were made for people like me, because sometimes you add on, and then add a little more etc. etc. until you have added too much, and the whole thing looks grotesque! I think my card goes just right up to that point, what do you think?
The design 'rule of seven' that I was taught, in art classes in school, is this; "Odd numbered items are found in nature, usually 3, 5, or 7.Too much and you have a field of flowers, not a bouquet. If your goal is to make a bouquet, don't turn it into a field!
I digress. I have a fever of 101.5, and am trying not to ramble.
Just l-o-v-e the botanical builder framelits! I could sit and create flowers all day! They remind me of the curtains and sofas that we had when I lived in Florida as a small child. I took the card stock colors from the Designer Series Paper pack, and the sentiments are from the Rose Wonder stamp set. If you would like to order any of these items, just click on the "SHOP NOW" button at the top of this blog.
Here are my fellow stars creations, given the same sketch:
- Jan Carlson
- Miriam Bollinger
- Dawn Thomas
- Debbie Sollinger
- Angela O'Neill (you are here)
- Cathy Peck
- Joan Weidling
- Judy Strickling
- Dawn Olchefske
- Connie Plaumann
That is all for now. May your day have seven, tasty layers!
Angela O'Neill
I like the way the layers are coming off the edge...clever! Thanks for playing along for this week's DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge!
