#DOswts359 Butterflies

The Designer Series Paper for this set sold out already, so we were asked to just use the stamps and dies. Here is my effort:

I didn't even use the stamps, just the dies. I could have put a sentiment on the front, but preferred to leave it for the inside for a change. In addition, I used Basic White, and Very Vanilla for a tone on tone effect. Really difficult to photograph, but stunning in real life.

Directions = Start with a card base of Basic White Thick. For the panel I chose Very Vanilla at 5 1/4' x 4". Die cut the two brick pieces, and then used many Stampin' Dimensionals to lift the panel. Next die cut the butterfly in Basic White for the base, and Very Vanilla for the details. Adhered on the body only, and then lifted on more Dimensionals. Popped on a pearl for more texture. It is really hard to see, but I also textured the Very Vanilla envelope flap with the hashmark die.

#DOswts360 Sketch Hop Whale Done!

Materials:

Cardstock = Basic White Thick (), Designer Series Paper Whale of a Time (152460)

Ink = Pacific Point (126951), Garden Green (126973)

Stamps = Whale Done Bundle (154053) Stamps and punch

Extras = Stampin' Dimensionals (104430), Whale of a Time Sequins (152461), & Adhesive

Directions:

Cut Designer Series Paper in 1" x 2", and 1" x 3" strips. Stamp whale and sentiment on white card stock, punch whale and splash, and trim sentiment. Use another piece of the Designer Series Paper as background for card front: trim on the inside of the card, and trim on envelope. Stamp small seaweed on card and envelope. Adhere card stock and use Dimensionals on the Whale and the Sentiment.  Glue sequins for "bubbles".

#DOswts358 - Sketch Inspiration Hop - Daisies

Another fun Hop with the Stamping Stars:

Stamping Supplies:

    Card Stock = Basic White Thick (159229), Basic Black (121045), and True Love Designer Series Paper (154281)

    Ink = Granny Apple Green (147095), Magenta Madness (153117), and Momento Black (132708)

    Coloring Tools/Pens = Basic Black (100082), Magenta Madness (153125)

    Stamp Sets = Quite Curvy (154430), Daisy Lane (149325)

    Other = Stampin' Dimensionals (104430), Medium Daisy Punch (149517), and adhesive

How to:

Started with a front panel of 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of Basic White card stock. The corner pieces were achieved with 2" squares cut in half at a diagonal. The center daisy is two (punched and colored) daisies on a Dimensional. The front panel was then trimmed on each side very slightly, about 1/16". This panel was then placed on a piece of 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" Basic Black card stock and adhered to the card base.

#DOswts357 Color Blocking

Color Blocking? I had to ask about this one! Apparently it is when you stamp on several sheets of card stock and then "puzzle piece" the image with die shapes. The sample that we were given was to use square and rectangle dies. I tried mine with the triangle dies. Take a look:

It was kind of a tedious technique to try, but the fact that it creates so many different colored cards with one layout is a time saver!

I used these Stampin' Up Supplies:

Cardstock = Basic White Thick Cardstock for the card base. Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Granny Apple Green, Gorgeous Grape, and Balmy Blue 

Ink = Momento Black, Real Red, Bumble Bee, Pumpkin Pie, Granny Apple Green, and Balmy Blue

Stamp Sets = Textured Essentials, Pattern Play

Dies = Stitched Triangles

Stamping with the Stars Sketch Challenge:

My version:

Stamp Set = Silhouette Scenes (149223)

Dies = Sweet Silhouettes (149541), Layering Circles (151770)

Ink Pad = Momento Black (132708)

Card Stock = White Thick (159229) 5 1/2" x 8 1/2 " scored at 4 1/4"

                      Basic Black (121045) 1" x 3" scrap  

                      Daffodil Delight (146989) 5 1/4" x 4"  AND 2 1/2" square scrap for circle

                      Pumpkin Pie (105117) 3 1/4" x 4"

                      Poppy Parade (119793) 1" x 4"

Extra = Matte Black Dots (154284), Stampin' Dimensionals (104430), Stamparatus (146276)

Directions:

I used the Stamparatus (repeatedly) to get a good dark image for the silhouette, then cut with the circle die and popped it up with dimensionals. The dots for the "i"s in the word 'inspire' are the  matte black dots, as is the focus point for the explorer.

Berry Blessings and Sweet Strawberry Slimline card

This week we have a slimline challenge:

Here is my creation:

 

I started with a card base of Basic White Thick (159229) card stock. Trimmed to 9" x 8" and folded at 4". I then cut a Night of Navy Card Stock (100867) piece of 3 3/4" x 8", and adhered it to the far left of front. Next I cut three pieces of the Berry Delightful Designer Series Paper (FREE 157613) into 1" x 3 3/4" strips, and spaced them to the right of the card front. I used a Vellum Doily (152484) on an angle and adhered it to the left card front. Next is a strip of Basic White (159276) 1 1/4" x 3 1/2" adhered to the center front of the card. I then stamped on two Basic White (159276) squares of 2 3/4" x 2 3/4". I colored in the strawberry leaves and flowers with Granny Apple Green and Daffodil Delight markers. On a big scrap of Basic White (159276), I stamped the blueberries, the strawberries and the raspberries with leaves and fussy cut them out .Next I adhered the two stamped squares, and then the extra berries on Stampin' Dimensionals (104430). I stamped the inside of the card, and the business sized envelope.

Stamp Set = Heartfelt

Card Stock = Whisper White thick (Base), Real Red, Flirty Flamingo, From My Heart Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP)

Ink = Flirty Flamingo, Real Red

Extras = Scalloped heart punch, Layering Circle dies, Stamparatus, Red Rhinestones

Directions = Whisper White Thick card stock cut 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4". Flirty Flamingo Card stock cut at 4 3/16" by 5 5/16". Stamped with second generation Flirty Flamingo ink. DSP cut at 2" x 3". Whisper White scrap stamped and punched with heart. Sentiment stamped with the hinge technique on the Stamparatus in Real Red and Flirty Flamingo. White piece trimmed to 3/4" x 3 1/2".

Inside: DSP cut at 3 1/4" x 3 1/4". Heart stamped in Real Red and punched with scalloped heart punch. Two more scalloped hearts punched with the scalloped heart. Fold all three in half and adhere together on one side to make a pop-up. Stamp arrow in Flirty Flamingo, fussy cut and cut in half at an angle to go on each side of the base. The center heart kind of 'pops up'. Stamp lower left of envelope with small hearts.

Three For One Shaker Card

DOstamper  Challenge #325:

Here is my rendition:

Why shake ONE when you can shake THREE? Three colorful apples with seeds that shake that is. Here are the ingredients:

Stamp Set = Harvest Hellos (Bundle with the Punch)

Inks = Memento pad, Merry Merlot pen, Light Real Red Stampin' Blend

Card Stock = Whisper White Thick, Garden Green, Crushed Curry, Real Red, Neutrals Designer Series Paper, Merry Merlot

Other = 1" circle punch, 1 1/8" scalloped punch, 1 3/4" circle punch, window sheet, scrap of whisper white card stock, regular office hand punch, foam adhesive strips, glue, snail adhesive

DIRECTIONS = Start with Thick Whisper white Card Stock that is cut at 8 1/2 by 5 1/2. Score in the middle. Trim Merry Merlot Designer Series Paper to 3" by 5 1/2". Stamp and punch stems and leaves. Stamp three apples on Card Stock and punch out. Punch tree more apples without stamping (for the backs). Punch 3 circles from the window sheet in 1 3/4" circle punch. Stamp sentiment  and three rows of seeds on Whisper White scrap. Punch sentiment with 1" circle punch, punch out each seed with office punch. Assemble.

Merry Christmoose for the DOstamper Challenge

Welcome to the DOstamper stars blog hop!

Here is my contribution:

You have probably seen several of these simple cards, that use the lone moose on a field of white. Using the Wrapped In Plaid Designer Series Paper for the moose punch is not new either, but I have a somewhat unique solution for the inside of the card. I think it gives the card some movement to have him go off of the page. What do you think? The simple gift stamp at the bottom of the envelope continues the Q & C, (Quick and Cool) theme.

Here are the materials used:

Card Stock = Whisper White, Night of Navy, and Wrapped In Plaid Designer Series Paper

Stamp Set = Merry Moose Bundle (includes stamp set and punch for 10% off)

Ink = Night of Navy

Extras = Snail adhesive and/or Multipurpose Liquid glue

Another challenge from Dawn

This sketch challenge from Dawn is the perfect size to use some larger card stock scraps!

This is my rendition:

Materials:

Card Stock = Very Vanilla, Whisper White, Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, and Monster Bash Designer Series Paper

Stamp Set = Spooktacular Bash #150544

Ink = Versa Mark #102283

Embossing Powder = (NEW) Shimmer Black #149512

Embellishments = Monster Bash Enamel Shapes #150448

Extras = Stampin' Dimensionals, snail adhesive, and a Heat Tool

Directions:

Start with a card base of Crushed Curry. 5 1/2" by 8 1/2" folded in half.  Use a Whisper White scrap (3" by 4 1/4"). Next, the dark (1" by 4"),  and medium panel (1 1/4" by 4") lined up top and bottom with 1/8" frame. Pumpkin Pie is the 3/4" by 4 3/4" piece. Stamp and emboss, then adhere between the dark and medium panel. Fussy cut any of the portraits from the Monster Bash Paper, and adhere with Stampin' Dimensionals. Stamp and Emboss a Very Vanilla scrap of 5" by 3 3/4", decorate and adhere inside of card. Stamp and emboss the envelope too!

Floating Frame Technique

This is my first attempt at the Floating Frame technique:

 

Lots easier than I thought! Dawn Olchefske challenged us to try it, and there are Pinterest links that show how to do it. You use "Press and Seal" wrap to hold the punched pieces in place. (The only trouble that I had was when the the wrap stuck to the roller in my die cut machine). Trimming is very important!

Supplies:

Card stock = Whisper White, Mango Melody

Ink = Mango Melody

Stampin' Write Markers = Mango Melody, Early Esspresso, Basic Gray, Gray Granite, and Daffodil Delight

Stamp Set = Nine Lives

Punches = Cat, Dog Builder (heart)

Extras = Stampin' Dimensionals, Rectangle Stitched framelits
