White and Silver Snowflakes for a new blog hop

To highlight the special Snowflake set that is available only during the month of November (while supplies last) the DOstamper stars are having an extra blog hop on Friday/Saturday.

This is my creation:

I used Smoky Slate for the sentiment. It doesn't photograph well, but goes with the silver scheme. I also used Frost White Shimmer paint and a dauber to apply it from upper left to lower right. Used the dot image over that with Smoky Slate too. (Also on the envelope flap). Add some rhinestones and you have a wintry scene! This set is so much fun that a person could play with it all day!

Check out the catalog on my side bar above. It is finally the "new" one for 2018-2019! Thanks to lots of blood, sweat, and tears, and a husband that helped! Thanks Jay!

ShowCASE DSC#296 Omitting Yellow

Today we have a showCASE from the Annual Catalog on page 17, where there is a card to CASE (Copy And Share Everything) Which is, as I understand, a way to inspire us to do NEARLY  the same as the card. We were to pick the colors, style, or layout. Here is the inspiration:

And here is my version:

Deep/Dark Yellow is my least favorite color in the spectrum! So my eye went to the blue flower that I recognized from the "Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper". That led me to page 177 in the Annual Catalog, and that is where I found my design.

Card Stock = Whisper White Thick (card base), Brights 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper (striped), Share What You Love Designer Series Paper, Mossy Meadow

Ink = Bermuda Bay, Mossy Meadow, Pineapple Punch

Stamp Set = Love What You Do

Color Me Fall challenge #295

These colors, to me, suggest a Fall theme:

Did you notice the rippled edge on the sentiment? This is included in the Thinlits package. I think that I carried the design over to the envelope with the Designer Series Paper. What do you think?

DOStamper Challenge #294 Turkey Punch Art

The DOstamper Stars Challenge today is a sketch:

 

 

And here is my rendition:

I knew that I wanted to make a Punch Art turkey as soon as I saw the "Making Every Day Bright " Stamp set in the Holiday Catalog. In fact, at first glance I saw the penguin light bulb as a turkey face. ( I think that my glasses were smudged.)

Anywho ... The turkey was made by stamping the "clear" bulb as the face, then punched and turned upside down. (Daffodil Delight), Next came the hat. I punched the bulb base in Basic Black, and added a narrow strip for the band. Another bulb base punched in Pumpkin pie (folded corner to corner) became the beak.Then for fun, I grabbed the tail of the fox builder punch in Real Red for the waddle. Next, assorted feathers were stamped and punched in Soft Suede on Soft Suede, Daffodil Delight, Real Red, and Pumpkin Pie card stock.The feet are done in Pumpkin Pie from the Vases Builder punch.(Tulip). The body was punched with the one inch circle where I had "over-stamped" some feathers. Viola!

I was antsy to use my new Detailed Leaves Thinlit Die too, so I put one on the backside of the turkey. In retrospect, it makes him a little busy. Tried rhinestones for the eyes, but pearls looked less gruesome.

New and Old Challenge #279

Today the challenge is a sketch. Here is my version:

Now for the particulars:

Stamp Set = Love What You Do

Card Stock = Whisper White, So Saffron, and Love What You Do Designer Series Paper

Ink = Momento Black, Cajun Craze, Basic Black pen

Extras = Stampin' dimensionals and black rhinestones (on the Clearance Rack)

Such a simple design. Easy to copy too, if you wish. Had to add my own touch with the black marker in a few of the smaller flowers! I call this "Old and New" because the rhinestones are old, and the Designer Series Paper is new!

Color Challenge #272

DOstamper Stars Color Challenge #272:

VERY challenging, in my opinion! I would not put these colors together without more inspiration! Cold, warm, and a "neutral" color, together?

Any who, here is my take:

 

Inside:

This is a "new" card fold that our fearless leader told us about. You cut the card base in a way to open up the triangle shapes. It works for me!

The ingredients:

Card Stock = Whisper White (Regular), Tutti-Frutti Designer Series Paper, Peekaboo Peach

Ink = Real Red, Peekaboo Peach

Stamp Set = Fruit Basket

Extras = Stitched Shape Framelits, Layering Ovals Framelits, Melon Punch

DOstamper Stars Challenge #270 Popping Panda

DOstamper Stars Thursday Challenge #270, is a Product Spotlight this week:

 

We were encouraged to use any Sale-A-Bration item, so of course I went for the most popular (Party Pandas).

 

INSIDE:

I started out with a mono chromatic color scheme with Berry Burst as the color. Decided that it needed more oomph! I used a "contraband" item, one that you can't purchase through Stampin' Up! It is called "action wobbles" (sold by Hampton art). I put it behind the Panda, and he wiggles while I giggle. Not necessary for the card, but adds a lot of fun! Had to cut off the puff ball part of his hat, to fit him in the circle. Love the colorful Designer Series Paper too! My students enjoyed making this card at class.

Here are the particulars:

Card Stock = Whisper White (thick), Berry Burst, Designer Series Papers = Fresh Florals and Tutti-fruitti

Inks = Berry Burst, Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay, Basic Black and Crumb Cake (for the shadow on HIS/HER tummy)

Tools = 2 1/4" circle, 1 1/2" circle, Classic Label, Snips

Extras = Stampin' Dimensionals mimi, adhesive

Colorful Sprinkles and Layers for DSC # 269

Home Sweet Home DOstamper Stars Challenge #269 looks like this:

Very colorful with lots of dots and lines. Here is my take:

Here are the specs:

Card Stock = Island Indigo, Calypso Coral, Pumpkin Pie, Rich Razzleberry, Lemon Lime Twist, Whisper White, Tuti-Frutti Designer Series Paper (envelope flap)

Ink = Island Indigo

Punches = Classic Label, 3/4" circle, 1/2" circle

Stamp set = Fruit Basket (saying partially masked)

Extras = Stampin' Dimensionals (also mini), Wink of Stella clear

 

Directions:

The circles are randomly placed with the Lemon Lime Twist ones placed last with foam dots. I also drew a curve line with the Wink of Stella on the Lemon Lime Twist ones. Happy Birthday was (masked &) stamped on an extra piece of Lemon Lime Twist, and foam dotted for dimension.

It is Thursday again, and here is the Dostamper Challenge for today:

Stamp Set = Bird Banter

Card Stock = Calypso Coral, Lemon Lime Twist, Whisper White

Inks = Bermuda Bay, Calypso Coral, Lemon Lime Twist, Basic Gray

Techniques = Coloring with Stampin' Write markers, Sponging, lifted item (balloon) with Stampin' Dimensionals

Extras = 5/8" Burlap Ribbon, Snips, Stampin' Dimensionals, Clear Wink of Stella, Chalk Marker, Aadhesives

Directions = Stamp images with Basic Gray, color it, pop up balloon, wrap burlap around art piece, tie separate bow and adhere with Mini Glue Dots.
